RIVERSIDE TRAIN STATION
The RGC developed and has been maintaining three gardens at the Riverside Train Station – the Pollinator Garden by Oval Ave, the Japanese Garden by the train station house and the Dogwood Tree Garden east of the train station house. The club does two clean-ups each year, one in the spring and one in the fall.
Fall 2023
Members of the Riverside Garden Club met on a sunny Friday morning at the Riverside Train Station in order to carry on the work started over 100 years ago – the beautification of one of Greenwich’s main transit hubs. The group also planted about 50 daffodil bulbs, a few mum plants, cut back the grasses and red twig dogwood trees and removed invasive weeds all to make the gardens more inviting for those commuting in and out of the station. The Club will be back again in the spring to witness the beauty of their labors come to life and ensure the continued well-being of this special garden.
Spring 2021
Below are photos from Riverside Train Station Spring Clean-up on Earth Day 2021. Riverside Garden Club members, together with volunteers from the local community, cleaned up both sides of the train station and spruced up the Pollinator Garden and the Japanese Garden.
