Program: ‘Gardening, A Love Story: Creating Brushhill’
Settle in and enjoy the story of how Barbara and Charlie Robinson started with a 1750’s Washington, Connecticut Farmhouse and over the course of 5 decades, developed 10 acres of diverse and beautiful gardens.
A repeat offering of The Garden Conservancy’s Open Days, the story of Brushhill will give you an appreciation of the history of a Connecticut garden covering the expanse of history from the 1750’s to current days.
The book, ‘Gardening, A Love Story: Creating Brushhill’ will be available for purchase.

Program: Sogetsu Ikebana Demonstration & Talk
Roxane continues our tradition of enjoying the talents of leading area Sogetsu Ikebana Teachers.
Sogetsu Ikebana, a Japanese art form started in 1927, is a simple presentation of flower arranging that emphasizes the creation of a peaceful and calm feeling. Easily accessible flowers and bits of nature are combined in a design to please the eye and soothe the mind.
Roxane is currently the President of Ikebana International New York Chapter 7.

Workshop: Creating Holiday Floral Arrangements for our Community
*Bring your garden pruning shears* and a dose of holiday cheer as we enjoy our 5th Annual Holiday Floral Arranging for our Community Workshop.
We will work together and create festive floral arrangements for delivery to our local schools and elder care facilities.
You will be provided with containers, mechanics, flowers and greens.

As Director of Conservation at Greenwich Land Trust, Dan Brubaker brings a deep well of knowledge about the value of native plants to our land. As we ease into the planting and growing season, Dan will explore ideas for developing habitat friendly landscapes, using local native plants and stopping invasives.

Program: 4 Season Gardening
Take a deep dive into making the most of our gardens with Alexandra Friedman, local Landscape Designer and Master Gardener. From daffodils to dahlias and from harvesting veggies to forcing bulbs, Alexandra will offer up fresh ideas and new takes as we enjoy the 4 seasons of our gardens.

- Club meetings are scheduled on the fourth Tuesday of the month, and they incorporate design, horticulture, a short business meeting, and a program or workshop. The business meeting typically considers civic projects and conservation issues impacting our community.
- An evening holiday party is held in early December.
- An annual awards luncheon is held in early June.
- Traditionally, in the fall, a small standard flower show is held in conjunction with the Garden Club of Old Greenwich.
- Additional events such as a new member social, evening workshops, field trips, and wine and cheese gatherings may be planned throughout the year.
